Hace tiempo que quería empezar otro blog. En el blog "Borinquen to Blizzards" yo enfocaba en la transicion de mudarme del Caribe a un estado del noroeste de los E.U. Ahora que J y yo hemos entrado en otra etapa de la vida, es hora de cambiar el nombre y el enfoque del blog.
For some time I've wanted to start another blog. The previous blog "Borinquen to Blizzards" mostly chronicled my transition of moving from a Caribbean island to a state in the northeastern U.S. Now that J and I have entered a new stage of life, it's time to change the name and focus of the blog.

Home with His Savior
My dad passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord shortly after 12 noon today (10/11/2012). He is already worshiping the Lamb!
Lord willing, there will be a viewing tomorrow and a funeral on Saturday.
I'm thankful that my brother T and sister A were able to safely make it in late last night to say "goodbye."

Update on My Dad
Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.
Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.
On Monday morning, my mom called with the news that my dad was being transferred from home to a hospice center. The hospice nurse believed my dad's organs were shutting down, and that he might have a week left to live (on earth). He had been in a great deal of pain over the weekend with a lot of abdominal distention. Now it is good to see that, in the hospice center, he is comfortable. At this point, he is no longer eating and drinking; doing so would actually be harder on his body than not. He spends almost all of his time sleeping, but I'm sure that he may very well be able to hear us. Yesterday he sometimes tried to say "I love you," and he knew that mom and I were there. Occasionally he attempts a response to a question or a greeting although today there was a little less of that.
I'm thankful that my dad is comfortable. I'm thankful to have been able to fly up here yesterday and thankful that so much family is with him during this time. I'm sure that's a comfort to him even if he can't respond, and I'm thankful that we can be here to comfort my mom as well. Most of all, I'm thankful that my dad knows Jesus and that very soon he will be going "home" to heaven.
Today my mom, Aunt C, and I were singing several hymns for my dad. When I came to this one, Crown Him with Many Crowns, I couldn't help but think how awesome and wonderful it is that my dad will soon see the risen Lord Jesus Christ in all his glory!! What a sight!! "Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne!!!"

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
