Valentine's Day/El dia de amor y amistad

Este ano tuve un día de amor y amistad bien especial. Una razón fue que, por la primera vez, tuve mi propio "San Valentin"--un novio--con quien celebrarlo. Pero antes de llegar a esa parte del post, otra razón especial es que pude pasar el día antes (el 13 de febrero) con mi familia. :-)

This year I had a very special Valentine's Day. One reason was that, for the very first time, I had my own "Saint Valentine"--a boyfriend--to celebrate it with. But before we get to that part of the post, another very special reason is that I got to spend the day before (Feb. 13) with my family. :-)



Queria sorprenderles a mi familia con una comida de San Valentin y decidi a cocinar quesoburguesas de pavo molido en forma de corazones. Salieron muy ricas! Tambien, me alegro mucho encontrar un melon, el cual pique en forma de corazones también. Fue divertido hacerles sentirse muy queridos a mis papas y a t.

I wanted to surprise my family with a Valentine's meal and decided to cook heart-shaped turkey cheeseburgers. They turned out so good! I was also quite happy to find a watermelon, which I cut into little hearts as well. It was fun to make my parents and t feel special.



Aquí estoy con mi novio--mi San Valentin--aunque saquemos esta foto unos días antes del día de amor y amistad. Estoy muy agradecida a Dios por el, por el líder espiritual que es, por su paciencia y amor, y por el video chat de Facebook que da la oportunidad de hablar cara a cara. Estoy muy emocionada por la ultima semana de marzo cuando, por fin, si Dios quiere, vayamos a visitar y vernos uno a otro (y ver a nuestras familias).

Here I am with my boyfriend--my Valentine--even though we took this picture some days before Valentine's Day. I am very thankful to God for him, for his spiritual leadership, for his patience and love, and for Facebook video chat that allows us to speak face to face. I'm also excited and looking forward to the last week in March when finally, Lord willing, we'll get to visit and see each other (and each other's families) in person.



Intercambiamos regalitos y los abrimos juntos por video chat. J, mi novio, había enviado su paquete a fines de enero, así que fue un ejercicio de paciencia para esperar el 14 de febrero. :-) Fue un regalo riquísimo y delicioso. Me parece que J me conoce muy bien y conoce mi antojo de siempre por el chocolate. Gracias, querido.

We exchanged gifts and opened them together on video chat. J, my boyfriend, had sent his package at the end of January, so it was an exercise in patience to wait until Feb. 14. :-) Must I say that it was a very delicious gift. It seems that J knows me well and my frequent craving for chocolate. Thank you, my sweetheart.

P - 10 Months/meses

Disculpen que algunas fotos hayan salido algo borrosas, pero muestran que, a esta edad, mi sobrinito P es un niñito de acción! También, le encanta la cámara y siempre trata de cogerla cuando me ve sacarle una foto. Tiene una sonrisa bella.

Please excuse the fact the some photos have come out rather blurry, but they show that, at this age, my little nephew P is a little man on the move! He also loves the camera and always tries to grab it when he sees me taking a picture. He has a gorgeous smile.

Esta empezando a soltar los muebles y mantenerse parado algunos momentitos. Me imagino que ya pronto estará haciendo sus primeros pasitos. Hizo un intento (y luego se cayo) después que saque esta foto!

He's beginning to let go of the furniture and stand alone for a few seconds. I imagine that soon he'll be taking his first steps. He made an attempt (and then fell down) right after I took this picture!

The Little Patient/La Pacientecita

Mi pequeña Lily (que pesa solo 6.1 libras) ha tenido una aventura--una que, a lo mejor no le gusta. Este jueves la lleve al hospital veterinario para ser operada. Gracias a Dios, Lily salió muy bien y yo estoy contentísima por tenerla en casa de nuevo. Me hizo falta el jueves y el viernes hasta que fui a recogerla el viernes por la noche.

Me dijeron en el hospital veterinario que Lily no debería de brincar, ni correr, ni treparse en cosas por 14 días. Prepare esta jaula en casa para que ella se descanse cuando no la puedo velar. Claro que la dejo caminar por la casa cuando estoy aquí. Lily si pasa bastante tiempo descansando y recuperandose (tal vez en parte por el medicamento que esta tomando), pero si se esta mejorando. Esta caminando y mostrando su típica curiosidad, y si brinca también a veces aunque trato de prevenirlo. :-)

My little (6.1-pound) Lilypad has had an adventure--one that she probably doesn't like. This Thursday I took her to the animal hospital to have a spay and declaw surgery. I'm so thankful that Lily came through okay and am very happy to have her back home again. I truly missed her on Thursday and Friday until I picked her up on Friday evening.

The vet tech. told me that Lily should not jump, run, or climb for 14 days, so I made a little resting area out of this cage for when I can't watch her. Of course, I let her walk around the house at times when I am there. Lily spends quite a bit of time resting and recovering (perhaps partly because of the medicine she's taking), but she is improving. She's walking and showing her typical, cute curiosity. And yes, she does jump on things sometimes although I try to prevent it. :-)
