Two Weekends/Dos fines de semana

Para los que leen mi blog en español, espero traducir este post dentro de poco...

The knight and his family were here last weekend (March 24-27). On Sunday, March 25, the knight and the princess took part in their first joint music ministry. The knight played guitar (very beautifully) while the princess sang Wonderful, Merciful Savior. Both look forward to, Lord willing, many more joint music ministries. On Sunday afternoon, the princess decided to take her knight and his parents to Niagara Falls, but TomTom, the trusty GPS, took them straight to the "odiferous" wastewater treatment plant. After some prayer and some good navigational ideas on the part of the knight and his father, they all made it to the Falls. :-) Once at the Falls, the knight-photographer took some beautiful pictures, and he and his lady joined hands for a shot of the princess's engagement ring. On the way back, the knight, who is a very chivalrous, gentle, protective soul, discovered, as he went to open the car door for his princess, that some unknown vehicle had bumped into the car in the parking lot while they had been at the Falls. After some deliberation, they decided to continue on their way (to return home before dark). The princess was thankful that nobody was in the car when it happened and that it wasn't too serious of a dent and decided to chock the dent up to adventurous memory-making.

The princess truly enjoyed getting to know her man's family--both while they were in her hometown and when she traveled to her knight's hometown the following weekend. The knight proved himself a most excellent photographer. :-) The knight and his father took the princess to Old Salem, NC, where they walked along the old buildings and learned about the Moravians who originally established a settlement there. The knight was delighted to see two beautiful, reconstructed pipe organs and to hear one of them played, and the princess enjoyed touring inside the historic structures. The princess also soaked up the wonderful NC accents and dialect, enjoyed the southern cooking made by J's grandma and mama, and gleefully toured the chicken houses on the family farm. :-) On Sunday, the princess's last day in NC, she went to her knight's home church--their future church--and enjoyed hearing him serve in music ministry there and sitting with him in the meetings.

The knight and princess's farewell was bittersweet but both look forward to their upcoming marriage. The next time they will see each other will likely be the week of their wedding. For now, they hope to marry in either July or September 2012 depending the knight's vacation time. Both are thankful to the Lord for bringing them together.

P.S. I hope to upload a video containing a slideshow of photos from the weekends but need to verify copyright first. I'll upload it once that is settled. Thanks!!!
