My Freaky Adventure

Just thought you all would enjoy hearing about/ squirming at the thought of my latest adventure. On Saturday, I enjoyed my first night's sleep in my new home. On Sunday morning, I made my bed, went to church, went to a family's home (where I spent most of the day), went to another church service in the evening, and finally got back around 9:15pm. When I entered my room, I noticed some ants on the wall by my bed. When I pulled back the covers on my bed, I discovered hundreds, maybe thousands, of fire ants that had decided to take up residence between my sheets! Aaah! I have absolutely no idea why--unless they like the scent of my shampoo or soap. I do not eat in bed. As the landlady said, "Maybe you're just very sweet." After ascertaining that there was no Raid in my apartment, I ran downstairs to my landlords' house, knocked on the door and asked if they had anything to kill ants. They were so kind. The lady came up with me, help slaughter those pesky creatures, and even offered to wash my sheets while I was at work the next day. We covered the ants in Raid. We also discovered the tiniest crack through which they were entering and covered that in Raid. Then we went outside and sprayed Raid on the other side of the wall. The next day, I went and bought some Raid for myself and also a flower for the lady who had so kindly helped me kill those ants. Fortunately, my apartment does have another bed/bedroom, so I've been sleeping in there. I also asked if it would be possible to fill up the hole. Later on I learned that the landlady also discovered ants in her bed, and a friend of hers who lives elsewhere also had ants. I guess it must be the season. Welcome to the tropics!
